Thank you for your interest in my latest pattern, Oriental Spirit, which is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern from the middle.
There is a general video of how to do my center out patterns and there’s pictures of the first few rounds to get you started in the information section.
There are 118 rounds to this pattern and the
last row there’s 235 stitches per side.
Oriental Spirit has US crochet terms, and the whole pattern uses overlay mosaic crochet rules, all single crochet stitches go into the back loop and all double crochet stitches go into the front loops of the stitch of the same colour 2 rounds below.
I haven’t added my yarn to the description because it’s up to you if you use 4ply/DK or Aran yarn, the thicker the yarn the bigger the blanket and the more yarn you’ll need.
I used Hobbi Twister shade Ice Sculpture 39, 1000m, 250g, 4ply. I used 1,336m, 2 cakes. Twister Solid in Natural White 101, 100g cakes, 400m, 4ply, I used 1,168m, 3 cakes. I used a 3mm hook and changed to a 2.5mm hook for the last 3 rounds to prevent waving. My testers information is at the bottom of the PDF.
With DK yarn you’ll need approximately 3,200m, and your blanket will measure approximately 130/130cm.
My blanket measures 36 inches, 92cm square, with 4ply yarn and a size 3 hook. Yours will be bigger with thicker yarn. My testers measurements are at the end of the PDF.

Welcome!
I create overlay mosaic crochet patterns, I love how creative I can be with just single and double crochet stitches.
I create simple to more complex patterns such as center out techniques, there’s pictorial help and video links in the downloads.
You might notice that all of my patterns have the words spirit or flow in the names, this is my dedication to my late father who was a drummer in a number of bands in the 80’s called “With the Flow” and “Kindled Spirit” and I chose to put those words into my pattern names.
Thank you for your support!
